Welcome to Kate & George ...by the sea.
Great to see you. On here we try to offer a small selection from the huge range we have in store. Sadly, we're never going to be able to put everything on this website, and because we don't have an EPOS system, something showing as out of stock on this website may still be available in the shop. I try hard to avoid the opposite happening! So if you're heading to the North Kent coast, we hope you'll be able to visit us in the heart of Margate Old Town. Have a browse through the whole of our stunning collection of women's clothing, accessories and design-led gifts. We hope you'll find something you absolutely need...

A view of Market Place, the centre of Margate Old Town, taken from a position in front of our shop.
High up on the wall of 'The Bull's Head,' the pub opposite our shop, you can see this plaque.
In 1952, stage and radio comedian Eric Morcambe married the pub landlord's daughter, Joan Bartlett. Born in Morecambe, Lancashire, in 1926, his actual name was John Eric Bartholomew. He died in 1984, aged only 58, following a heart attack as he left the stage of The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury. He had suffered two previous heart attacks; one in 1968, the second in 1979.
Fort Hill, Margate, on a Summer's day. The Turner Contemporary Gallery is obscured by the tamarisk and other bushes on the right of the photograph.

A couple of views of the Walpole Bay Hotel, Fifth Avenue, Cliftonville. Situated on top of the cliffs above the tidal pool, it's the perfect place to stay, have afternoon tea... or maybe just a drink in the sun.
